Austin Ruckstuhl is a Project and Policy Advisor at the Internet Society. He joined the organization in May 2020 and concentrates his efforts on supporting the projects related to Community Networks, the Internet Way of Networking, Encryption, and Infrastructure and Community Development.

Austin received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and his M.A. in International Relations from Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) in Spain. Prior to joining the Internet Society, Austin worked as a project researcher in Internet Governance at the United Nations University in Belgium (UNU-CRIS). He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US) and has received fellowships from ICANN and RIPE NCC for his work in Internet Governance.

Austin is based in San Diego, California.
